Ever wondered how your ancestors planned their epic journeys? Well, hundreds of years before we had Google Maps, satellites and smartphones, the Marshall Islands had a stick chart called the rebilib. Shells represented islands and atolls, while sticks were the ocean's currents and swells. Before they would venture off on a journey across the moana they studied and memorized the chart to help guide them to their destination. Pretty clever, ay? Your Pacific ancestors were navigational innovators from way back. Study technology at school and carry their legacy into the future.
